We have been lucky lately to have lots of rain…and one recently was even gentle! (as opposed to the tremendous storms we have been getting that dump a couple inches of rain) This last one, Dad took me to the play in the rain some. Oh, it was FUN!!! The rain came pouring down off the roof and Dad held me there to play in it. I splashed, hung upside down, and got soaked…and it was great! I love the water.

Last Sunday, my Dad got older. He is way older than me, I don’t even know how old…but hopefully a bit
wiser now that he has a kid! Anyway, had a number of visitors during the evening festivities. I think he didn’t want me to get bored and so he brought over lots of people for me to charm. I guess I was kinda the center of attention a lot…at least until this chocolate cake came out, and then everyone went googooo over the “Queen of California” instead of me. They brought it to me and Dad on fire! It was soooo cool. Then we blew it out….strange….
Well, I had fun. I stayed up way past my bedtime, and due to that got to see some special late-night visitors as well, including Tom Bluewolf!
We played outside for a long time. The weather was great. I guess the mosquitos thought I was very sweet, even inside the tent they came after me.

Mom and Dad have been clapping with me for some time, and I have watched intently. This week, I tried it on my own, and to Mom, Dad, Grandma and Natalie’s delight…I got it! I am proud of myself for figuring out this entertaining motion that you all seem to enjoy already. Check out the little video Dad caught of me clapping.
Grandma came to town and we went baby stuff shopping. She told Mom that I need a high chair now
that I am eating food and want to be at the table. So…I have a new perch! It has a great big space for me to play with food on. It isn’t nearly as good as being held, but Mom and Dad like having some hands free while they eat and feed me.

I have been with Dad playing soccer since I was about 2 weeks old…maybe younger. As soon as I was able to stand, I got to start kicking the ball. Now I am pretty excited to be around soccer in any degree. Dad gave me the ball today and I was so excited I drummed on it.

I am keenly interested in everyone’s food (especially Mom or Dad’s). And I am willing to try anything. Today I had lots of fresh food from the garden and the CSA, including tomatoes, delicata squash, beets, and a tiny piece of chicken. Mom and Dad had a good rolling laugh watching me eat a big gob of peanut butter. Recently I also had olives (weird, but not bad!), carrots, and many other goodies…basically anything I can get in my mouth
This weekend in the mountains I even ate celery! Well, mostly I gnawed on it with my 2.5 teeth, but I even got a piece off.
